day 7: home

"the company is closing down for now," sam's father said to his wife.

"mine too," she replied. "it seems that there aren't enough employees showing up to keep it running right now."

"everyone keeps getting sick..."

"the news has said that staying at home is the best thing for now," her mother said. "hopefully this will all be taken care of soon."

"did you hear that, samantha?" sam's dad projected. "you need to stay inside the house from now on."

"okay, dad," sam said, walking over to her parents.

as she got closer, she noticed how pale they looked, the dark circles under their eyes.

"are you guys okay?" sam asked. "you don't look too good."

"i'm sure it's just stress, hon," her mother said. suddenly she bent over a bit, clutching her side.

"mom?"

"sorry," she answered, heading for the medicine cabinet. "i think i need some midol."
